Ways to Boost the Beauty of Your Sliding Patio Doors

Your new patio doors can increase the visuals of your interior and exterior living spaces, and consequently, improve your home’s value. And while these doors are beautiful on their own, there are ways you can take their aesthetics even further. Renewal by Andersen® of Montana discusses more.

Make Sure to Pick the Right Door Material

The material your new doors are made of play a big role in aesthetics, so it’s important to choose it carefully. Wood remains the most visually appealing choice, but they’ve fallen out of popularity due to their elemental weakness – particularly to UV light exposure and water damage.

All of our doors are made with Fibrex® – a composite material that can perfectly mimic the appearance of natural wood with its all-natural texture. Unlike real wood though, Fibrex boasts better UV light resistance and is virtually immune to rotting and warping from water damage. This ensures a natural-wood look that’s guaranteed to last a long time.

Glass and Door Aesthetics

The glass on your doors also plays a role in establishing aesthetics. The glass, after all, is what lets in natural light on top of the visuals and landscape. Bigger glass is always better when aesthetics is your focus, but this risks increasing the amount of heat and light entering your living spaces, which in turn affects your energy efficiency.

Our sliding doors feature very large glass panes, but they do not experience the same light and energy efficiency problem thanks to our High-Performance™ Low-E4®  glass packages. They are engineered to reduce UV light intrusion and heat, and are 70% more energy-efficient during summer and 49% more energy-efficient during winter.

Door Aesthetics

Patio doors are technically a mix of door and windows, so if you want to improve your doors’ aesthetics, consider fitting them with some aesthetic pieces like curtains. Remember though that your choice of door aesthetics is dependent on the design of your room.

For traditional homes, go with curtains. For contemporary homes, the modern design of shutters and blinds fits your living spaces better.
